Ireland's Friend Party

Ireland's friend party was one of the funnest parties I've ever thrown. She went to a bakery called One Sweet Slice and each of the girls got to decorate their own cake   A hostess taught them how to use fondant and taught them some cake decorating tips.

Where have my toes gone?

I have 2 weeks to go until our little girl is here and until I can see my toes again.  I can't wait!!

Lacrosse

Jacob decided to follow his cousin Kirby's footsteps and try lacrosse.  When Jacob sets his mind to something he lets everyone know how great it is.  He can be very convincing. The result is usually Mason liking the same thing.  He is super excited that his lacrosse gear arrived.

First day of school

The kids are all super excited to start school this year.  Notice Mark photo bombing in the background.  First graders started a day later so I got Mace in a pic with the other two.

My little cooks

These two are always wanting to cook.  Love it!

Lake Powell 2012

This year I was a little nervous how much I was going to like Lake Powell because I was pregnant and not able to do any of the water sports.  It ended up being great.  The kids are old enough to take care of themselves and I really got to relax and read some books. I actually did get up surfing that was a blast.  I love the picture of Mark totally looks like the 80's.

The bees game

For Mark's company party we got to go have a barbecue at the bees game. It was really fun, I haven't been to a game in a long time. Jacob took off to the other end of the field in hopes of catching a ball.  The rest of us hung out eating ice cream dots and other treats.

Remodeling

So over one weekend I decided that I was sick of my white carpet and we ripped it out to put wood floors in.  It seems a little crazy to start a project like this when I'm 8 months pregnant but I like to keep myself busy.  Grandpa Kirby came to help us with some of the finish work I love how he lets the boys help and teaches them how to cut and measure.  He is way more patient with them than he ever was with us. ;-)

Happy Father's Day

Iree made Mark thie awesome tie for fathers day.

Juice Diet

We watched this documentary Sick, Fat and Nearly Dead and wanted to give it a try.  It was amazing to see quick changes to our bodies Chuck lost 20, Mark lost around 10 and I just felt a lot better... I didn't do it all the way because I am pregnant but I added it to my diet.

It's a Girl!!!

We went in for an ultrasound today to find out if the baby is a boy or a girl.  My doctor said it was okay to have the other kids come.  I took them out of school and went to meet Mark at the doctors. It was about time for my appointment and there was no Mark so I gave him a call and he said "hey, what's up babe?"  He had forgotten!!  We put the appointment on hold until he arrived.   When the technician told us that she was a girl both boys were disappointed and Iree was super excited.  Jacob was mostly disappointed that we wouldn't have a LeBron James McNees or a Kingston LeBron...I was definitely relieved.

Fun with cousins

Swimming with the cousins is always fun, it's nice to have the pool so close so we can hop on over any time. These kiddos are super silly.

Kaymin's Baptism

Mark had the awesome opportunity to baptize Kaymin.  It was a really special day, he gave her a great blessing with all of these great men.  So many people love you Kaymin!  And of course, there was good food at Heidi's afterward

Techies

We have the Kirby cousins sleepover a lot.  We always enjoy having them hang out, watch movies, eat snacks and play games. Its so fun having cousins so close.  Even if their faces are all in their own devices it's still a blast doing it with others.

Lake Powell Work Trip

While the adults were busy working on the house boat the kids were busy catching fish. Except not these fish... These were caught by some fishermen and they let us take a picture with the fish.  Our kiddos and their new best friend were busy catching gross carp.

Grandpa Kirby Retired

The hardest worker I know.  My Dad retired.  He has worked in the heat, snow, rain and mud for 50 years providing for our family.  Thanks Dad!  We all lave and appreciate what you have done for us.

Tennis Lessons

Mason started tennis lessons and is loving every minute of it.  We have tennis courts right by your house so it's very convenient to get him to practice.  His coaches always comment on how he is always smiling and hustling.  I think this might be his sport.

Another Championship

The XSI team won their league again..
this is an awesome group of boys. SUPER FUN!

Serious Business

We have become the managers of our house boat. So we have to take trips down to get it in order.   From the picture you can tell it is all work and no play! Mark, Sailor and Scott had to give these hats a try in the Damn Bar gift shop.  It's nice to have a few days just hanging out at Lake Powell.

Crazy hair day

It was crazy hair day at school today and the kids wanted to go all out. I love that they like to participate and it's fun to do something crazy every once in awhile.

Guitar

Jacob has been so impressed with his cousins Austin and Parker playing the guitar that he wanted to give it a shot.  We got him started in lessons with Art Moore who is an amazing guitarist and he learned his first song Ode to Joy.

Mason's Jr. Jazz

Mason had a good time playing junior jazz basketball with his buddies from school. He was a little tentative and didn't like getting in the group of tackling kids but when he did get the ball he is an awesome dribbler and has a great shot.

Our new adventure

Excited and nervous all at the same time.  New Year resolution to the extreme.   The due date is Sept 5th... What do you know another September baby... and September 5th!!!!.  Mark and Mason could have a nice birthday present.

Grandma Linda's Wedding

Grandma Linda and John got married in a cute little pizza parlor.  Mark's brother Randy got to marry them.  He did a great job at making it so special for them.  The wedding was down in this cozy basement I thought it was a really cool environment.  They both seem so happy and I know John is a great guy.  The kids had a great time on a short little trip to Colorado.  We headed home a few hours later to make it home for Christmas Eve.

Christmas 2012

I can't believe this is the only picture I have for Christmas, I must have been busy doing other things. All the kids got these awesome helicopters from their uncle Randy and absolutely fell in love with them.  They got spoiled with a bunch of other gifts too... overall it was an awesome Christmas.

Kirby Family Christmas Party 2012

Every year we have a big family Christmas party when we all sleep over at one house. Grandma and Grandpa always get the kids pajamas and they love it.  This is one party I look forward to every year.  There are lots of laughs we usually stay up talking all through the night.  I love my huge family its such a blast.

AAU Winter Champs

Jacobs XSI team won the AAU winter league. These boys were super excited. This is such a fun team with awesome players an awesome parents.  I love watching him play.

Thanksgiving 2012

Thanksgiving at Grandma Kirbys.  Mason knows how to do it!  We came down the night before so we could help Grandpa with some projects and help Grandma with the preperations before dinner.  These gatherings never get old.

Helping Grandpa Kirby

I love watching my kids help Grandpa.  He is always so patient with them and includes them in his projects.  It gives them a small taste of how my family spent its Saturdays.

The Preschool

I have decided to start blogging again!!!  I love looking over all of the blogposts throughout the years, it's kind of my way of journaling. I'm starting off where I left off.  The preschool took all of my time, day and night, for the last year and a half.  That is where I have been!!   I'm super proud of where it is today, it has been so much work, but so worth it.  This had always been a dream of mine but I really never thought it would happen.  Mark has a way of making everything we dream about come true.  He has the confidence to make everything work.  I also have to give a little credit to Heather for not letting me get a "job", and for Anna helping me out line the logistics.  When I showed Mark the spreadsheet Anna and I came up with he said "lets get it rolling."  My whole family saved me in the final hours...Thanks guys.

Wow... Time flies!

I just noticed that I haven't blogged since August. Well all I can say about the last few months is "holy cow!!!" I don't think I have picked up my camera in a few months... those of you who know me well know that that is a little strange. I usually have it in my purse and am constantly making my kids and everyone around them pose.

There are many novels I could write about the last few months... but this condensed few paragraphs will have to do.

Jacob started 4th grade at Utah Virtual Academy (some call it "home school" but it is far from that)... long story for another time... I love it, I hate it, It is the best, It is the worst, overall... a great experience! This was the main source for my blogging absence... any extra time I used to have was all put into Jacob's schooling. He also played football, is now playing in two different basketball leagues, in scouts, and has to play with friends everyday or he feels very deprived!!! Oh, I forgot to mention he could be a sportscaster on ESPN he keeps us all up to date on the NFL and NBA happenings.

Ireland started 2nd grade...loves every minute of it. (I help in her class 2 times a week and I am her PE teacher every Wednesday) she played soccer this fall, and was in a community play "Cinderella" and had a blast. She, like Jacob, thrives on playing with friends... she can often be found singing at the top of her lungs to "kids bop" She loves doing crafts and projects... when I can't find the scissors, stapler, or any other office supply I know it is hiding somewhere in her room... I am a little worried I have a horder on my hands... she keeps everything! Our monthly declutter of her room often results it 1-2 garbage bags full of random items and papers that were stuffed in cracks and corners. Iree is thoughtful... Mark and I receive constant notes from her saying we are the best mom/dad in the world... I love my little girly girl... P.S. She did get a volleyball for Christmas... I still have high hopes!

Mason is a riot... He started pre-school and loves it!! He goes 3 times a week but would love to go more. He has a best friend Ike,who he plays with almost every day. When he is not playing with Ike he can play with his cars, trains and trucks for hours all by himself... He is also content just hanging out with me... I love that about him! Mace played tee-ball in the fall and is fast becoming a good basketball player... He rides his bike constantly and loves video games. His happy, funny attitude is a blessing for our family. We love our little guy and I can't wait to see what he becomes!

Me... I am crazy...crazy busy... yep I am... that about sums it up.

Mark is super busy with work... and working out... he is getting big and not fat-big... muscle big. He is playing hockey, volleyball, an occational basketball game and flag football. He works hard at anything he is involved in. He is a great dad and hubby...We all love going to his games and we all love when daddy is home!

So much was left out... but time flies... and sometimes you just can't catch up.

Starting off the New Year!

My little Mace Man was so sick... It is so hard to tell when he is because he is always so happy... he never complains.

I decided to take him in after two days of fever... they said he had strep so I got meds and of course took him skiing two days later... (I know, I am the worst mom) like I said... you can't tell when he doesn't feel well because he is so happy.

Over the weekend he wasn't getting better... he had a fever every time I let the meds run out so on Monday I took him in again. He had had a fever for 6 days even after being on antibiotics.

My doctor was super concerned...His oxygen was low... he was having an asthma attack and he was pretty sure he had pneumonia. They gave him a breathing treatment right then. He sent us to run a bunch of tests at Primary Children's... They took an x-ray of his chest and saw that it was pneumonia.

We had to go back to the doctors to get an antibiotic shot because of some alergies he has to certain meds. This is how he looked an hour later...

Great!!! After trying 4 different Antibiotics and too many other meds we finally got it settled... The sad part is the medicine we ended up with tasted like "POO" he had to take it 3 times a day for 10 days... he was such a trooper. He would almost puke every time he took it. I love this little guy and am so glad that he is doing better now.
